Lydia Nika

Lydia Nika is a lawyer and PhD Candidate in Human Rights Law at the School of Law of the University of Nicosia, where she graduated summa cum laude. She also holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Law, awarded with distinction, from European University Cyprus, as well as a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

As part of her academic and research experience, she completed an internship at the Institute for Political and Democracy Studies in Cyprus and was a Visiting Researcher at Ghent University through the Erasmus+ programme in the context of her doctoral studies.

She serves on the Executive Board of the International and European Affairs Group, where she is also Master Editor and Publication Coordinator of The Human Rights Journal. In addition, she coordinates the Case Law Team of Nomikos Palmos, the legal journal of the NKUA School of Law, and is a member of the Equality and Women’s Rights Committee of the Hellenic National Youth Council.

Her academic interests and professional engagement focus primarily on human rights and criminal law. She has published articles in legal journals and has participated as a speaker in conferences, academic forums, and scientific events in Greece and abroad.
